N. Douglas Baker, MDN. Douglas Baker, M.D., F.A.C.S. earned his bachelor’s degree from Wittenberg University in 1979, where he was inducted into the Wittenberg College Honor Society. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1982. Dr. Baker completed a Flexible Medical Internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital before completing his residency in ophthalmology at The Ohio State University. After his residency, Dr. Baker completed a fellowship in glaucoma at Emory University School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Baker is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Ohio State University. He enjoys teaching ophthalmology residents and fellows in the area of glaucoma patient management and surgery. Dr. Baker is a recipient of the ophthalmology resident Makley-Battles teaching award. He is an active member of the American Glaucoma Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Ohio State Medical Association, the Columbus Ophthalmological and Otolaryngological Society, and the Ohio Ophthalmological Society. Dr. Baker is the principal investigator for the National Surgical Glaucoma study using the micro lumen shunt by INN FOCUS. |
Kenneth V. Cahill, MDDr. Kenneth V. Cahill graduated from The Ohio State University Summa Cum Laude and as a Phi Beta Kappa member. He also graduated from The Ohio State University College of Medicine where he received the Dean’s Award and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was chosen Chief Resident of the program. Dr. Cahill then served a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic surgery at Grant Medical Center, Ohio State University Hospital, and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Cahill has written numerous scientific articles and he lectures nationally on the subject of ophthalmic plastic surgery. The American Academy of Ophthalmology has given him their senior honor award for his international teaching. He has been a contributing author to a dozen books on eye disease. He presently holds the academic rank of Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Ohio State University and is a co-director of the University’s Oculoplastic Surgery Service. He is a member of numerous medical societies, including the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has served on the Education, Thesis, Preceptor, and Executive committees of this organization and has directed its annual scientific meeting. He is also currently the Vice Chair of the Board of the Medical Group of Ohio. Dr. Cahill believes that every patient should be given the best possible care in a compassionate manner. Megan M. Chambers, MDMegan M. Chambers, MD joined Ophthalmic Surgeons & Consultants of Ohio in 2015 and specializes in the treatment of Glaucoma and Cataracts. She received her undergraduate degree from Kenyon College, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in Molecular Biology/Italian. She began her medical training at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She then completed her Internship at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Chambers returned to Ohio to complete her Residency at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Havener Eye Institute. Upon completion of her Residency, she moved to Iowa for a Glaucoma Fellowship at The University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. Dr. Chambers is a Columbus, Ohio native, who has happily returned home to practice medicine.
Dr. Chambers is a member of the American Glaucoma Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Ohio Ophthalmological Society. Dr. Chambers is a sub-investigator for a National Surgical Glaucoma study using the micro lumen shunt from INN FOCUS. She is dedicated to providing patients with the highest quality care. Alice T. Epitropoulos, MDAlice T. Epitropoulos MD, FACS is a board certified ophthalmologist who specializes in refractive and cataract surgery. She is a native of Columbus, Ohio and is passionate about improving the vision of her neighbors in Central Ohio. Her practice is focused on refractive cataract surgery with premium intraocular lenses and laser technology. She also has a Dry Eye Center of Excellence. She is a founding member and proud to be a part of The Eye Center of Columbus, an innovative affiliation of more than 80 ophthalmologists located in the Arena District in Downtown Columbus. Dr. Epitropoulos also serves as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University. Dr. Epitropoulos received her bachelor’s degree in Nursing and her medical degree both from The Ohio State University. She completed her internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital and returned to The Ohio State University for her residency in ophthalmology where she served as Chief Resident. She serves as an editor for the Journal of Refractive Surgery. She won the “Outstanding Woman in Technology” award in 2008 from Tech Columbus for the patent that she developed on the EpiGlare tester. The product, designed for cataract patients, was launched at the 2015 American Academy of Ophthalmology International meeting.
Dr. Epitropoulos speaks and teaches nationally and internationally on cataract and refractive surgery, ocular surface disease, and innovations. She is actively engaged in clinical research and studies to evaluate new technology. She has published in several peer reviewed medical journals. She has also been involved in organized medicine and serves as a medical reviewer for a national ombudsman program. Jill A. Foster, MDJill A. Foster, MD graduated Summa Cum Laude from Augustana College in 1982 before she went on her earn her medical degree from the University of Illinois Medical School, where she also graduated with honors. Her academic honors also included membership in Phi Beta Kappa, Omicron Delta Kappa, Mortar Board, and Alpha Omega Alpha. After an internship at the University of Illinois Hospital, Dr. Foster went on to complete her residency there in the Department of Ophthalmology. She then completed a fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Foster is a fellow of the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Baylis Award for outstanding accomplishments in Cosmetic Surgery. In addition to her work at Ophthalmic Surgeons, Dr. Foster is an Associate Clinical Professor at the William H. Havener Eye Center at The Ohio State University and the section chair of Oculoplastic Surgery at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She has written and created numerous articles, abstracts, exhibits, and posters and has given a multitude of oral presentations. Her expertise spans a wide array of topics with special interests in Facial Cosmetic Surgery and Pediatric Oculoplastics. David M. Lehmann, MDDavid M. Lehmann, M.D. graduated Magna Cum Laude from Yale University with a degree in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry. He went on to earn his medical degree from The Ohio State University, where he won the Eli G. Alcorn prize in Ophthalmology. He completed a Flexible Medical Internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital before undertaking a residency in Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed a glaucoma fellowship with Eye Consultants of Atlanta.
Dr. Lehmann is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University and is actively involved in teaching students. He is a member of the Ohio State Medical Association, the Ohio Ophthalmological Society, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He served as Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Grant Medical Center for more than a decade. Dr Lehmann works actively with State and National government to help improve the practice of Ophthalmology. He volunteers with the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Eye Care America project to help provide eye care for seniors, and the Columbus Free Clinic. Cameron B. Nabavi, MDDr. Cameron Nabavi joined Ophthalmic Surgeons & Consultants of Ohio in 2012. He trained as an ophthalmologist, but did further training in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the eyelids, orbit and lacrimal system due to trauma, cancer, congenital defects, system diseases and aging. Dr. Nabavi received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in Neurobiology.
He pursued a career in medicine starting at the University of California, San Diego where he received his medical degree. He completed internship at Scripps Mercy San Diego, followed by a 3-year residency in Ophthalmology at the prestigious Gavin Herbert Eye Institute at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Nabavi completed a very competitive 2-year ASOPRS sponsored fellowship in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery with Drs. John Long and Matthew Vicinanzo at the University of Alabama, Birmingham and Callahan Eye Hospital. Dr. Nabavi serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Ohio State University. He also helps in the training of future ophthalmologists through lectures and clinical instruction at OSU and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. Nabavi is board certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is a diplomat of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He also is a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Nabavi is involved in multiple research studies of the eyelids and orbit including studies of combined blepharoplasty and brow lift, giant fornix syndrome as well as ectopic lacrimal gland tumors. Daniel G. Straka, MDDr. Daniel G. Straka graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame and was inducted into the Alpha Epsilon Delta Premedical Honor Society. He then received his medical degree from the University of Toledo, College of Medicine, where he graduated top 5 in his class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed his Internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Straka then moved to Nashville, Tennessee to complete his ophthalmology residency at Vanderbilt Eye Institute. After residency he completed a very competitive 2-year ASOPRS sponsored fellowship in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery directed by Drs. Kenneth Cahill, Jill Foster, and Cameron Nabavi.
Dr. Straka has extensive training in the areas of cosmetic facial surgery including upper and lower blepharoplasty (eyelid lift), endoscopic brow/forehead lift, facelift, and laser resurfacing techniques to reduce facial wrinkles. As a complement to his surgical interventions, he performs many non-invasive procedures including neurotoxin injections (Botox, Xeomin, Dysport), dermal and facial fillers (Restylane, Juvederm, Sculptra, Belotero), and Kybella, the only FDA approved injectable to help reduce neck fullness. In addition, he specializes in the medical and surgical management of many conditions affecting the eyelids, eye socket (orbit), and tear ducts in both adults and children. These include droopy eyelids (ptosis), upper and lower eyelid malposition (ectropion, entropion, retraction), eyelid or periocular skin cancers, orbital tumors and fractures, blocked tear ducts, congenital eyelid malformations, and thyroid eye disease. Dr. Straka is board certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS), and the Ohio Ophthalmological Society.
